This is the heart of the issue. The community trades and builds enterprises. The community funds government to regulate to protect. The community employs public servants to serve to assist with regulation.
Government is not the creator. The community that elects are. The job of government is to protect and serve. The community creates jobs.
The government has become its own master and servant. Hence the explosion in public servants. PS wages, NGOs and other boards and bodies.
The government is now more than a servant of the community. It is more like a parasite. All the references to pollies (and public servants) on the public teat supports this proposition.
Smaller government and a tighter PS with less intervention in the market allows more money to remain in the community and organically creates more jobs outside of government.
Government 'twas intended to supervise and not rule. There is a great difference. This is where ideology rest and where the problem lies.
An example in support. The government offers cash to employ over 50s. The scheme is overseen by a PS bureaucracy. A better method might be to reduce the effective tax rate of employers with employees over 50. The scheme would be managed by the employers accountant who reports to the ATO. the accountant is at the employers expense. There is no bureaucracy at the publics expense. Jobs are still created but outside of govt.
