Robbing Peter to pay Paul.
Liberals and Labor promised cheaper electricity at
the recent state election, one of payment and supposedly fairer prices for Tasmanians, expect a
short term sugar hit.
Then there's the downgraded Marinus link due to cost blowouts.
TasNetwork [electricity transmission and distribution] services.
"Once Marinus and the north-west transmission connection are commissioned that will increase to around $100 million a year for the next 40 years.
"And because those network costs make up about 40 per cent of consumers costs, we can expect bills to increase by around 10 per cent from 2028 for the next 40 years.
Also they're saying electricity consumption in
Tasmania is set to almost double over the next
30 years, doesn't say cheap to me.
