As you may or may not know, people who receive aged care assistance are currently assessed for what assistance they can receive according to whether they have one or more debilitating conditions.
It is now under discussion that higher levels of assistance ie more dollars will only be allocated or spendable if the client has either dementia or is in a wheelchair. Of course many elderly people have other equally debilitating conditions - kidney failure, heart failure, osteoarthritis or osteoporosis etc, which may not require them to be in a wheelchair and of course neither do they have dementia.

It is quite clear Labor is looking to transfer money from the aged & infirm, contrary to their grandiose election promises, and make it available for flagship programs like catering to a "Voice " of dubious benefit to anybody, least of all the remote indigenous people.
