You are not a leach, you are providing a home for someone. There has to be a long term benefit for you, same for me. You are planning for your future so you probably will not be able to draw a state pension and get cheap prescriptions etc. But when you sell, the government will benefit from the increase in the value of your property by you paying CGT. Unfortunately, so many on this thread are to dim to understand this.
They quite happily take their 50% CGT discount after 12 months on their shares, it is laughable, pure hypocrisy. Good luck to you my friend, your investment is benefitting others, whereas, their’s are only benefitting their own pocket. They just don’t get it.
