Yes, it was a sad day when insurance considerations and OH&S laws stopped us from hiring the kid next door to mow our lawn (example), so we shouldn't blame the youngsters for what was out of their control, or ours. A pity, given they're like sponges in their teens and are now hampered by that deficit of learning in a part-time work environment. Fact is, Joan, for good or bad the world we were raised in (presuming you're a senior) has long gone - just as it disappeared for our parents and their parents before them etc. Part of the evolutionary process, I guess.
