Exactly, historically that was how people lived in England. They used to call them tied cottages.
My stepson is a farm manager in England, part of the deal is that he lives in a massive Victorian house, rent free on the estate.
But each room is massive and the house is freezing as they cannot afford to heat it.
But they had bought a very modest home before, which they rented out and now it is paid for.
I tried to encourage him to invest in another property, but he was too scared.
