I read somewhere that as spot prices went down and demand slackened through withdrawal of govt subsidies and economic uncertainty in China, companies pushed into bankruptcy released their stock at losses and this fed into supply and so further weakened demand on producers. It paints the picture that demand hasn't been as weak as has appeared over the last year and that spot prices suffered beyond fundamental value.
