    Lucid Air specs:

    • 1,000+ horsepower, all-wheel drive
    • 0 to 60 MPH in 2.5 seconds
    • 100 kWh battery for 300 miles range (130 kWh option for 400 miles)


    A major bottleneck of EV's currently is the range for many.. This is what plenty are waiting for before they buy an EV.

    The Lucid Air proves that more batteries can be used to increase range right now If wanted.

    Lucid has gone against the rest and decided to provide the bigger battery which will appeal to the luxury market in a big way IMO. (They could be like the Rolls Royce of EV's, very good team and specs)


    If Tesla we're to do this it would up Lithium demand massively and spike the lithium price upward = bad for there business currently, so they;re waiting until they can build there own batteries first. These batteries will not only be better than there current ones but potentially use less lithium due to how they're made which will then make up for the lithium price increases. It wouldn't surprise me if they provided more batteries though + ultra/supercapacitor tech to improve range/efficiency/energy return/life and safety of batteries dramatically(30% + increase minimum IMO with the option to go much higher if wanted with additional batteries). This will cut costs in the long run if they;re making there own batteries in-house, whilst appealing the the market massively overall and probably end up being the breaking point of ICE car's.

    The boom has started and the tech is ready to be used.


    2020 is going to be nuts for this sector.
