    if we could drop the stupidity of our biases for a minute and look at it and think it through

    we might find that we are better off with immigrants in those areas as opposed to Aussies born and bred

    why?


    because as the data show --- it's the types of employment that are in the areas of the hotspots

    which means that no matter what - you will have those as hotspots


    now - if you had Aussies there - they would have no individual supporters - like case managers and the like - which can be used to transfer information about safety measures in the pandemic

    with new immigrants - you can and quite possibly do have that sort of support - and, that might make a big difference - it indeed might be giving us a lesser problem than we otherwise have



    the story in any crisis is always deeper than what one sees on the surface - there are always details and complications


    people here on the surface look at the hotspots and they say - 'oh, look, that's where the immigrants are'

    but, in fact - it may have nothing to do whether they are immigrants or not - it may well be other factors ------------ in this case - the data seems pretty clear
