Dear Truth Forum
The Bible, both in Old & New Testaments, contains the cute phrase: "Love thy neighbour as thyself".
Sure, we all know Jesus provided the cute parable about the Good Samaritan but we want to go deeper here into our own psychology rather than cut & paste cute parables.
What does this actually mean?
For example, if thy neighbour is homosexual, atheist, punk rocker or Hindu, what behavioural responsibilities does loving thy neighbour place upon one?
Does it mean converting thy neighbour to the religion you love, therefore, loving thy neighbour as you love thy self, similar, to say, masturbating is loving thyself or how druggies try to get others to take the drugs they themselves enjoy?
So what does this: "Love thy neighbour as thyself" actually mean?
Thanks
