SMSL caused some delays before Lynas was granted theTOL or POL from Malaysian Gov. The Malaysian Gov is pretty quiet these days .
Looking in hindsight ,the SMSL delays coincided with technical problems that Lynas had to complete LAMP and repair bottlenecks, lining problems.
Those problems are now behind us.
SMSL don t deserve a mention in this forum. imo.
One should focus more on how to reduce COP , and to convince the clients to pay more for what they get . Increased production can be achieved . But pointless in producing at a loss .
So far, the Japanese debtors showed understanding by restructuring of the loan.
Maybe this is their way of paying that "bit extra" for REE to keep Lynas alive till the REE prices recover as expected.
The QR should give us a fair idea on the progress.
