Factories are being built to run WITHOUT WORKERS - using robotics
Factories will need - in the coming age or ultra ultra ultra rapid changing high technology -
to be able to just stop production of Widget A - because Widget M - has superseded the whole Widget A technology
so, if the factory wants to keep chugging - it has to turf the Widget A production and almost instantly begin Widget M production --------
are Australians good at that?
No
Is China good at that? ----------- uh huh, like lightning
What are Aussies really really really good at?
Invention and innovation
Remember, it WAS in Australia that the solar panel industry started - and ran for years - until the Chinese bloke who developed a lot of it - buggered off to China and now ------------- pooooof ---------- China is solar panel world.
And here we go again --------------- going to manufacturing when - the world is going somewhere else.
Frankly amazing. I like the noises Albanese is making - BUT, -------
1. He's making the noises in the wrong direction - he should be making them in research and development
2. He's got to back it up with more pieces in the puzzle - no matter which horse he backs -
- if we fund, seed, support industry --------------- we HAVE to be able to have Ozzies - born and breds - educated, ready to go into those industries ---------
now for manufacturing - pfffffffffft ------- no one breeds a robot. And for research - well, we have people who want to do things like that ------------ what we need is places for them to do it, people to teach and train and monitor and supervise as they do it ----------- AND ------------ MONEY, lots and lots and lots of MONEY MONEY MONEY - to throw at it
oh - and places for people to live and sleep and eat - whilst they are working - you can't work to any reasonable level when you're living in your car in a carpark
so - Albo has a LOT more to do
the question is ----------- will Ozzies let him do it?
It's not been done in decades ----------- why would Ozzies all of a sudden now find guts and will??
