High salaries, multiple weeks leave, high insurance, high levels of super, high leave entitlements, high rental costs, high real estate prices, high cost of energy, high regulations, maternity leave, DEI costs, high level of legal issues, unions, govt interference, unfair dismissal laws, cheap overseas labour costs, means Australia is kidding itself. Look at what the unions did to our car industry after $15b in subsidies. Our system is great for minimum productivity and high pay, but that does not make it competitive at any level by world standards. Anything Labor does here will be to produce unionised high subsidy companies destined to live off taxpayers until they get shut down. The money is better spent via reducing taxes for start-ups and letting private enterprises run the show. Govt has never worked. Its Albos lot of wombats pretending to be pro-business and create jobs. They will indirectly be govt jobs as they will depend on taxpayers. This bird will not fly regardless of the spin.
