the price is low because it is very much automated. the SunDrive panels will be cheaper and 20% more efficient than other Tier 1 panels because they've learned how to use copper in place of silver. mass production methods are required because its a very competitive market.
a low cost for panels is part of why solar energy is so much cheaper than any other form of electricity generation. and yes, they're getting cheaper all the time.
