Back in the late 60's or 70's Qld Health closed down Lowson House (part of RBH) and after that mental patients who would have normally resided in Lowson House were free to roam Brisbane streets. I remember seeing one patient who chased me around the ward with a pair of scissors, walking across Victoria bridge. Seems that in 2024 there is still no facility to house mental patients. As we can see, tragically, the policy clearly is not working.
