The conditions while not 5 star are as good as those provided for the security staff, TSL facilities are far superior naturally.
Often times it was better to eat in the t"transferee compounds then in the staff messes.
Internet and Phone was provided pretty much daily and was more consistent then security staffs, and far better then any tht is provided to Australians Serving overseas.
Sleeping quarters are safe, airconditioned and providing the transferees do not damage or vandalise them are comfortable and far better to any Ive seen homeless veterans have or DVA pensioners afford.
Provided free educational opportunities, and are in-fact informed about their likely status, a point which would often cause aggressive/destructive behaviour from transferees.
Provided with excursions, gym, and sporting activities.
Can recieve mail from home including care-packages
often times form standover groups depriving fellows of their entitlements and any luxuries, additionally resistance may be met with beatings or rape. from other transferees. quite often the weaker ones are pressured to commit self harm buy these groups in order to create disturbances or to make a point.

Arts/crafts, often times bartering cigarettes with the locals for phones drugs and sexual favours.
forming unprofessional relationships with TSL workers, and then crying fowl or threatening to assault, take hostage, or rape staff members.

and attempt to coerce people in Australia to act against staff members.
