In November 2018 VINCI Construction Grands Projets was advertising about the Nirobox project in French Water Magazines.
They were obviously pleased with Fluence as a supplier and the Nirobox product itself, if they are advertising that they would like to repeat the process elsewhere around the world.

Parent company VINCI SA are the largest construction company in the world by revenue (43.5 billion Euros - 2018).

INCREASE CAPACITY PRODUCTION OF THE FACTORY DESALINATION OF SEA WATER OF MAYOTTE

Today, Mayotte drinking water comes from 80% of surface water. Although means of production are sufficient for average rainfall,local authorities have launched an emergency plan to make Mayotte less and less tributary of the rains.

The teams of VINCI Construction Grands Projets were mobilized for the works emergency extension of the desalination plant at Petite-Terre. This project allows bring this plant to an additional daily capacity of 3,000 m3 drinking water,produced by desalination and remineralization of seawater.

Our expertise: last generation units,energy efficient

A new takeover and a new pumping power to power the existing plant and the new factory at 250 m3/ hour each.

The VINCI Group has partnered with FLUENCE to implement three desalination units of 1,000 m3/unitary day, fully autonomous. Each unit NIROBOX ™ includes an ultrafiltration stage, a stage reverse osmosis and CIP unit (Cleaning In Place).

A common unitof demineralizationsodium bicarbonateand chloridecalcium, as well aschlorine disinfectionproduced by electrolysis,complete the threeNIROBOX ™ units. These unitslast generationare fullyautomated andrequire little handof exploitation.

A particularly efficient system of recoveryenergy saving allows a saving of about 40% ofpower consumption compared to unitsclassics, and reduces the specific consumption ofdesalination units at 2.45 kWh / hour / m3.

An organization adapted to the emergency situation

Considering the emergency situation of the water supplydrinking water in Mayotte, the Syndicat Intercommunal d'Eau andd'Assainissement de Mayotte (SIEAM) has delegated the master's degreethe project to its operator, the Mahoraise CompanyWaters (SMAE).

The VINCI Group has mobilized three of its subsidiaries, bringingeach their technical expertise, in order to meet the challenge and complete the work in just six months: VINCIConstruction Grands Projets (process and equipment),SOGEA Mayotte (construction, intake and water and pumping)and SETM (electricity, control and command). EGIS Water abeen in charge of project management.

A technique that can be exported to other countries

Sanitary compliance analyzes were revealedsatisfactory, allowing the connection to the network from the outsetdrinking water distribution. Also this achievement opensthe way to other desalination projects in other countriesof the world.

This project is an effective response to changeclimate change in which Mayotte, like many othersterritories, is facing.
