According to the announcement:
"The Access-Maintenance VMI model provides a significant cost savings to the American taxpayer...
Under the Access-Maintenance VMI model, AVITA Medical will maintain product inventory that is within expiry for commercial use while BARDA reserves the right to access this medical countermeasure for use during a public health emergency."
I think it means less financial benefits to AVITA but it's great from a brand recognition perspective...
