yep thats right. technicals charts is all required to trade. u dont need stocks. just indices or forex as there stocks follow the indices e.g. SP ASX 200 or SP500. i personally have started learning how to trade just with daily charts. because i want to learn how to be independent, and not dependent on the ipo variability like allocations disappointment etc.
re- ipos the big cap ipos have done well. i agree still a valid strategy. we'll see the outcome of this nov 25th and if it works you can use it as a supplement as well.
