    I was a lowly radio/radar tech at Edinburgh in the mid '60s and WRE, where the boffins worked just over the fence, were working on this then.

    Like inertial guidance navigation, [Flew Air NZ into Mt Erebus] it is an idea that never bore fruit and a concept that is now clearly last century. If we are still spending money on this, email your member to recommend a budget saving.

    If the concept that "everything is seen, you just have to run the tapes" is sound, how come anybody is ever lost?
