I have quickly checked today's politics thread title and can't see this has been discussed ...
It was announced today Trump will embark on a massive buildup of US military strength as a deterrent to perceived threat from China.
I am not stirring the pot here, but I did think during the campaign, Trump was emphatic about withdrawing from overseas military interventions and campaigns to focus domestic efforts, including funding a massive spend on infrastructure?
Isn't this announcement just throwing down the gauntlet for at best Cold War diplomacy with China and committing America to a massive, unproductive spend that limits funding on infrastructure?
