Just as I was very sceptical about the 'smoking gun' Manafort supposedly holding secret talks with Julian Assange, which turned out also to be rubbish. The list of debunked claims is endless. When so much of this narrative has been based on fake and debunked stories, why should I trust in the last few remaining claims? No doubt there is some tiny kernel of truth somewhere, as is the case with most grand conspiracy theories.
