Hi,
I have not held any ADRs but I do hold Resmed CDI's. They are 10 to 1. So the opening price per unit here is always 1/10th of the closing price in the states. At least that is my understanding.
So Resmed is dual listed but it's transparent except for the fact that Resmed pays dividends but that's a whole different ball game.
One issue I am not sure about and would like to get input from is whether a move to a US Exchange constitutes a CGT event.
By the way there has been a lot of discussion on this topic over on the Alexium thread if anyone wants to trawl through the discussion there.
