Thanks for the high-ground speech carlos. The subject has been talked to death and very descriptive reasons given in the past by many of the posters here, so your comments are way off the mark. The NBN is a waste of takpayers money, complete overkill and will be written down in the future at a huge loss. There's a place for fibre and in fact fibre was already being built by private enterprise. A smart government would have built upon that, provided incentives for private organisations to expand, just like they have done everywhere else in the world. Even South Korea, considered the best served country in the world for Internet access, has used very little of takpayers money, they've involved private enterprise, as the costs are prohibitie. Even moreso in Australia with such vast expanses of land. It just makes no sense.
