It is the firm view of the LNP govt that any tinkering with current provisions on NG is NOT ON.
I believe this policy position is no longer tenable.
I understand that when Mr Keating changed the rules one year, he had to change BACK the following year.
This time things are different.
Housing affordability is a key social issue in Sydney and Melbourne. Young families are priced out by investors backed by the govt's NG tax rules.
There is required an urgent CONTEST OF IDEAS on this in the public arena
