Shareholders we need to work together on this issue. Considering many of us are holders from the galaxy Gmm Oricobre days let’s put the collective wisdom to the Capital Gains Tax (cgt) issue.
In my opinion I’m not selling or disposing of my Allkem shares merely rolling over to Arcadium. My cost base will always be what I paid for all the parcels in the past companies converted to arcadium.
If as some are interpreting and my crude reading of scheme implies I am forcefully disposing therefore triggering CGT on entire holding then Houston we have a problem.
Surely there is an accountant or tax specialist or genius amongst us that can share an opinion (not tax advice) how they see this playing out for long term holders. Many who have built up large holdings and do not wish to take a large dump in 1 year.
The true power of HC is the little fish working together in the shark pool.
