News: Europe Distillates-Diesel margins rise after U.S. stocks drop

LONDON, May 1 (Reuters) - Northwest European diesel barge margins rose towards $17 a barrel on Wednesday after data showed a larger-than-expected drop in U.S. inventories last week.

• In the Northwest European diesel barge window, 7,200 metric tons of barges traded on Monday, compared with 30,000 tons in the previous session.
• Shell and Mercuria sold to Glencore.
• U.S. distillate stockpiles, which include diesel and heating oil, fell last week by 700,000 barrels in the week to 115.9 million barrels, versus expectations for a 200,000-barrel drop, EIA data showed.
• Russian oil product exports from the Black Sea port of Tuapse are set to rise sharply in May to 1.532 million metric tons from the 0.727 million tons scheduled for April, two traders said on Wednesday.
• Russia's exports of ultra low-sulphur diesel (ULSD) from the Baltic Sea port of Primorsk are set to rise by 1.6% month on month to 1.47 million metric tons in May, up from the 1.4 million tons scheduled for April, two traders said on Tuesday.
• European diesel margins are coming under pressure from high imports and lacklustre demand.
• About 1.1 million barrels per day of diesel imports are set to arrive in the European Union and the United Kingdom in April, up from 1.07 million bpd in March, Kpler data shows.
