What Goldman is saying is contracted price in 2021/22 will be lower than in 2018/19 so on the next price review of Lattice contract with Beach Energy applicable on 1 July 2023 Origin will receive a lower gas arbitration price. The gas contracts in 2018/19 were used as the basis for the current price review by the Arbitration process that led to a decision of a higher gas contract price.
To me this is not clear cut as contract prices for gas in 2021/22 are not yet known. BHP and Exxon conducts the biggest gas contract sales in Victoria and NSW and there are no sign that they have lowered their gas price.
