Here battery makes total sense, easy to charge at home, safe and simple. Whilst and hydrogen makes no sense.

The battery side of things is well underway but the hydrogen side has barely even started.
You have millions of cars running about with battery and I would say most people looking to buy a new car, seriously considers a EV, perhaps its just that their preferred manufacture doesn't offer a EV that is competitively priced to their ICE cars yet, but this is changing very quickly.

Once the scale for hydrogen has hit a point where it is cheaper than oil burning applications to run, everyone will move over fast to stay competitive. This will take a long time, but will happen.

The real question then is, when that happens, will advancements on the current downfalls of hydrogen for small applications naturally change the battery applications over to hydrogen to bring everything back to one fuel application ? Thus essentially giving us what we have now with Petrol, just a clean and better version ?

Oil isn't going anywhere for a very long time. At best any new demand will be offset by new fuels and oil's current demand stays steady well into the future.
Gas, well, my view is we will be chasing our tails trying to produce enough for the next 50 years.

Woodside will be fine, I'm buying as much as I can, its in a win/win situation either way the future goes, they are well positioned for it.

I think the current issue with EV's is they have limited range, but the bigger problem is their life span. You pay $70k for an EV and $30k of that is the battery, after 5 years the car loses a lot of value because it only has 5 years left until the batteries need to be replaced. Buyers are holding off because they want the technology to evolve. As it stands hybrids are the best choice until EV's can improve range and life span. Your comments are spot on with hydrogen, but i do believe the big oil companies will push into the domestic market quicker than you think. These companies have distribution channels that are worth trillions, the answer for them is hydrogen.
