that Netanyahu might be causing such hate that people generalise their distaste for him and the choices his government has made, and making it about Jews, shows the ease with which anti semitism springs up. I’ve seen twisted rationale for such behaviour on the basis that the Israeli government are Jews or just generalised hate.

I note the last which reference a speech Andrews made to a synagogue. It’s a good example really. The Jewish community in melbourne is NOT privileged. It includes ordinary people who are getting on with their lives trying to make something of them. People who work hard, people who struggle and people who have made something of themselves as well as people, the children and grandchildren of Holocaust survivors who now benefit from their hard work - like many immigrant families. It also includes the progeny of long term citizens of australia many of whom made it to australia in successive waves of immigration since the 1800s and others who were part of Britain’s grand transport system for convicts. Slipping in that word suggests that you too have a tendency to generalise about Jews - matching the usual comedic representation of them
you regularly refer to the Holocaust as if that is what anti semitism is. It was simply the consequence of hatred, easy characterisations and Millenia of brainwashing. The ease with which anti semitism is rearing its head again has as much to do with the latter as anything else.
