Jamaica has announced its decision to recognise the state of Palestine, joining 141 member states of the United Nations that recognise Palestine's sovereignty.

"By recognising the State of Palestine, Jamaica strengthens its advocacy towards a peaceful solution."
Majed Bamya, Deputy Permanent Observer of the state of Palestine to the UN, took to Twitter to announce Jamaica's decision.

@Cosmoterioss; following on from the role the USA has played in the ethnic-cleansing of Palestinians from their territories it will still prevent Palestine from achieving full nationhood status by yet again exercising its VETO power!

It's long past the time when any country should be able to exercise such totalitarian authority on the rest of the World. It's time that such measures require at least one third of nations record their opposition - NOT just the USA.
