Barba signs with Sharks for $800,000 a season

Ben Barba will join Cronulla for the next three seasons on a deal believed to be worth close to $800,000 a year after he was released by Brisbane.
The Broncos offloaded Barba as part of Wayne Bennett's restructure at the club. It is understood Brisbane will pay up to half of that figure for the next two seasons.
Fairfax Media revealed three weeks ago that the Sharks were in negotiations to sign the 2012 Dally M medal winner.
The Sharks, North Queensland Cowboys and Parramatta Eels all showed interest in luring Barba for next season, however Cronulla won the race to his signature given the extra funds they had on the books after they sacked Todd Carney last season.
