Barba has not been the same footballer since he left Canterbury where he spent his final season injured.
He lost his turn of speed with that injury.

"Allegedly" he created a lot of trouble within the Canterbury Club with his off field behavior and I am not referring to his gambling and other reported activities. Activities similar in nature that "allegedly" created disruptions at North Queensland in Johnathon Thurstons first few seasons with the club.
Who knows if these claims are true .........you only ever really hear them second or third or fourth hand.

so does the huge contribution by Brizzy to Barbas transfer deal reflect their desperation to get rid of barba because of his off field disruptive activities ........as well as his on field non delivery.

I dont think any manager could have secured this deal unless Brisbane were desperate to get rid of Barba.
