I have to hand it to you Canonman, you have been following gaps for years and to see this one filled, is impressive. I always have felt that nothing is certainty in the market so to see your GAPS fill what has to be 90%+ of the time is a great record. Not sure of technical reason why this happens or is likely to happen. Maybe it has something to do with excessive momentum up or down when gaps occur only to see that excess unwind at some stage in the future whether short/medium or long term.
I think today, some capitulation is occurring probably exaggerated by excessive rallies in stocks like BHP, RIO etc taking some of the money away from Golds at the moment.
It's only a matter of time before it turns up again.
