Thanks Hitandmiss43.. I understand what you have said re clients being matched by the broker om the buy and sell side . I am going back to the days when an investor on the stock market may have had 3 or 4 companies and a tame stock broker and; before online trading; was able to sell from one of their own companies to another of their own companies ;making it look like there was large buying interest in a particular company even though; there was no other entity interested in buying a large number of shares in said company . This usually had the effect to push uo sp price with no real 'sell' taking place .The rest of the subterfuge was carried out by an entourage of accountants and a few lawyers to create a huge paper trail which made it difficult for Tax office to investigate.
