The farm was at Peachester, southern edge of the Maleny ridge. Seemed too humid for the olive tree. That was the best it ever did - "an olive" tree! Sweet corn, three crops a year, and I grew it in England too, so Melbourne should be OK. I believe almond trees need a lot of water - about 4 litres per nut. But a bonus is that you can grow truffles on almond trees. They seem to enjoy hot dry climates though, Spain, Italy, California (80% of the world's production).
