Imagine taking that 20% out of the mix, I wonder how this would affect the mix of gases in the atmosphere. Twenty percent less O2 would this mean the air we breath be changed? Would twenty percent less O2 change the gas mix we breath and what would be the consequences of that. I know the atmosphere in my house is better with some plants in it.
There are those that just dont believe it will change anything at all. You cant just take that much forest away from the planet and not expect a serious affect on the climate.

Hi All4One,

The Amazon contributes about 20% of the 02 produced by photosynthesis on land, not 20% of the 02 in our atmosphere so whilst the fires do present a serious threat to climate change our oxygen supply isn't really one of them
