    Look glug, paying money to certify products as halal is in most cases unnecessary as mostly all things are naturally halal. Here are some guidelines. Halal guidelines
    I would not have any problem with halal if their certification fees didn't exist, as all that they do is assist the expansion of the Islamic empire.
    If you wish to draw the discrimination card then perhaps a good place to start would be with explaining why only Muslims are allowed to certify, work and oversee operations.
    I don't see why companies can't regulate and certify their own products in house, does the Islamic councils not believe that companies are capable of maintaining a level of quality with their products. All companies need are a set of guidelines to follow and if that is not good enough for the Islamic council well they should pay for it themselves.
    No third party = no extra fees = no problem
