I don't think the buyout process will fail. these things are complex and due diligence takes time. timelines will get delayed if new interested parties enter the process.
most of the companies interested in this resource aren't buying it to flip it in 12 months, this will be a strategic purchase that they will hold for a number of years. lithium prices will be much higher in 2-3 years, they will be looking at the longer term.
how many non hardrock resources of this size are there in tier 1 jurisdictions? I think in time, brine will be a much cheaper source of lithium that only the massive hard rock resources will be cost effective to produce.
yes it would have been nice to sell out before Christmas at a $2bn valuation but however the transaction is structured, it will be a good result for shareholders.
