I have seen an estimate of 40,000 migrants expected in Germany this weekend.
The more important number is how many are in the pipeline already between Greece and Germany. These are effectively already in Germany but for the transit pain they are being made to endure. Germany could stop the transit pain cheaply if it wanted by setting up jumbo jet shuttles from Lesbos to Berlin.
Germany has made a massive mistake. They should learn from the Indonesian advice to Australia to take the sugar off the table.
