Just come back from a 2 night stay at Gold Coast Tues/Wed. Accommodation was busy due to a dance competition held on site. Plenty of families at the pool ordering food and drinks and Uncle Su was full at dinner time. Had to wait in a long queue for breakfast.

I enquired with casino staff whether International guests had the same gaming restrictions applied as the rest of us? I was told the same restrictions apply and this has affected numbers. In the past, Internationals would stay at Star and gamble huge amounts of money with a guaranteed 20% return on any loss. With the new rules in place, they're not interested as there is no longer any incentive of the guaranteed 20% return as well as time restrictions.

Staff are enforcing the gambling time restrictions regularly, with some of the patrons walking out and commenting they will head to Sharks so they can continue gambling. I don't see how these new rules are going to stop problem gambling when they can just change venues.
