No I dont think it is ridiculous, just like PLL with the SYQ offtake, if Tesla can get SC6 from PLL at around $1,200/t rather than have to pay $4,000plus then don't you think Tesla will be pursuing all legal angles to make this happen?
There could very well be some litigation risk at the very least.
