On the available evidence, after what he said and did, Trump should have been charged with inciting a riot, if not outright insurrection.

God almighty, the Joint Chiefs of Staff felt the need to publish a letter reminding troops of to what they had sworn their oath - the Constitution, not any particular fuhrer!

I think the Department of Justice and the political establishment is simply too terrified to press any such charges. However, It is said the wheels of justice grind slow, but fine, so maybe it is just a matter of time.

It isn't just because of the size and extent of his support and the apparent civil divide in the heavily armed US, but because he was a type of President no one ever expected to reach that lofty, literally 'privileged' position and they may be flummoxed in how to respond.

Arresting and charging the very man in whom such tremendous power and discretion was granted by the Constitution is a very daunting prospect. Which Public Servant would dare to set such a thing in motion?

Certainly the framers of the Constitution didn't forsee it, imagining outright crooks and liars could be simply be deposed by impeachment.

Luckily, the 'deep state' of Public Servants, elected and unelected - and the judiciary, did their duty, despite the few co-opted by Trump.
