Pr/Nd prices continue up, more business reported

BEIJING (Info-RE) 16-Mar-17Praseodymium/neodymium prices have been on the rise in the past few days underpinned by purchases from downstream consumers as well as the rise in listed prices at Northern Rare Earth for March.
99% praseodymium/neodymium oxide is available about RMB280,000-281,000/tonne($40,702-40,848/tonne) for the moment, compared to about RMB278,000/tonne($40,412/tonne) a few days ago.
Meanwhile, suppliers are not very keen to sell the material below RMB280,000/tonne($40,702/tonne) for the moment, anticipating prices could firm up further in the days to come.
Given the rise in praseodymium/neodymium oxide prices, suppliers have also raised 99% praseodymium/neodymium metal prices to about RMB365,000/tonne($53,059/tonne) recently and some are not very keen to sell the metal at the pricing level now with the expectations of higher pricing level.
Market sources said that downstream NdFeB makers have been replenishing praseodymium/neodymium according to their orders from clients. The growth in prices has not impacted in consumer buying recently and market business for praseodymium/neodymium has been running smoothly.
