Your point of view about academic freedom is perhaps quite valid, and that Spurr probably doesnt get far with many students - I believe it. Although the rapey stuff in his emails could hardly be described as cutting edge stuff. That stuff is probably sackable anywhere. Even in universities. But I concede your line of argument re: universities, is strong.
One of the problems though, is that this guy is writing a school curriculum for little kids. There'a all sorts of wrong in some of the things he wrote in the review, and now the root of it has been exposed for all to see.
I suggest the liberals go back to the drawing board on this one. It's possible to be conservative without being outright racist and misogynist. The man's input is toxic and should be discredited based on his foul views.
