I reckon the NSW govt will be desperate for this to go ahead - the environmental impact seems much more certain than the coal mines on the Liverpool plains , let alone coal seam gas projects. The jobs from ALK rare earths will be significant.
Problem is just one of timing - rare earths depressed though Hafnium looks good but the gold projects that are providing cashflow could be marginal if the gold price continues to fall .
