I've had a good look at BTT. It's a good comparison and worth having some exposure to it. Yes, they have the biggest FUM by far (about twice as much as PTM or MFG) but most of it is lower margin wholesale spruiked in wraps and BTIM appointed J O Hambro Capital Management (JOHCM) to manage much of the Fund from 18 February 2014. There is high percentage of Australian share content, unlike PTM which is all offshore.
You are right - the share price has performed well, better than I ever dreamed it would. But then the underlying funds haven't performed as well as PTM or MFG. For example, take the Asia funds of BTT and PTM. BTT is an index hugger while PTM has outperformed it greatly using their well known absolute return model. PTM 17.5% annual return since inception is always going to be hard to beat I guess.
I agree when you said "when they wake up then PTM will do even better."
