    This is news to me. The QLD government offered $200 million for Virgin to stay in Queensland. It was not a buyout. Expressions of interest, about 12, have signed memorandum of understanding so they can do due diligence over the next few weeks.

    Rule out Branson I'd say. He's committed to keeping Virgin Atlantic flying. Selling down 25% of his stake in Galactica for $750 million.

    If I had a few billion airlines would be the last investment I'd look at.

    Geruda, KLM, Lufthansa, Etihad, SAA, all the US airline majors, Air India, Scandinavian Airways blah blah plus a host of little airlines are drowning. Qantas is burning through $40 million a week flying nowhere.

    Why would Queensland Government want to be a part of this money drain?
