The report says a cost benefit analysis indicated the project was not worth the 100 million dollar cost.
The former government had spent nothing but had made election promises to spend spend spend.
If this dredging would make the port so much more profitable then why doesn't private enterprise do it?
Because they know they would never recover the cost, that's why.
I used to like Cairns forty years ago but now it's just another boring over-developed tourist town.
For me the attraction has gone.
