I was hoping you might clarify a statement for me. You said, and I quote verbatim:

When you make that statement do you actually mean to say extreme Islam or do you also include the majority of Muslims who just want to go about their daily lives raising their families, making a living and praying to Allah. The reason I bring it up is that yesterday Sypaladin thought I was being a tad harsh on the anti-Islamic posters and he could not see evidence of "hate" in that line of posting. My response is that more often than not the message is in the subtext. In this case the message is contained within what you did NOT say rather than what you said.....that is of course unless you intended to leave out the word "extremist".

But how would you feel if you were a Muslim and you were trying to do the right thing in your new country and you had to live with the fact that social media was bombarded with this kind of stuff day in and day out??

If you raise a child, any child, and tell them on a consistent basis that they are no good, that they are useless, that they are a disappointment then how do you expect that they will turn out as adults?? When that child fails to blossom as an adult it is not because you were astute in the assessment of that child but rather that you participated in the creation of a failed adult. There is power of life and death in the tongue......

So what do we expect will happen if we do this to a whole generation of an entire culture. It is now 13 years since 911. A Muslim child who was 5 then is now 18 and for most of his life he or she has been told by the west, on a consistent basis and in no uncertain terms, that they are the enemy, that they are a threat, that they are a terrorist....nothing more and nothing less.

We need to take responsibility for what we are co-creating.

I stand by my statement. I am against the following:

1. The lack of conviction by most Islam leaders in condemning ISIS atrocities publicly;
2. The growth of Halal certification which is effectively an Islamic Religious tax for the purpose of promoting Sharia Law;
3. Sharia Law and everything it stands for;
4. Islam does not condemn Pedophilia;
5. Today, Islam leaders have rejected Tony Abbott's anti-terror laws which ASIO have publicly stated are critical in their fight against terrorism.

I quote from an article today: "Muslim leaders across Australia have denounced as unjust, unjustified and hypocritical proposed new counter-terrorism laws and they have refused to "rubber-stamp" them for the government. In a statement released on Wednesday afternoon, more than 60 individuals and organisations, including 10 sheikhs, said that the threat from the ostensible target of the laws - about 150 "radicalised" Muslims returning from Iraq or Syria - had been "trumped up".
"There is no solid evidence to substantiate this threat. Rather, racist caricatures of Muslims as backwards, prone to violence and inherently problematic are being exploited," the statement reads.

We've recently had an Islam leader come out publicly and have the audacity to say that we should bring back Australian radicals fighting with ISIS in Syria to rehabilitate them.

It is about time that the "majority of Muslims who just want to go about their daily lives raising their families, making a living and praying to Allah" that you mention start taking a more aggressive stand against their own leaders and in turn the radicals. This is their fight as much as ours if they are legitimate in sharing true Australian values.

I believe the Australian government should immediately cease all future Muslim immigration to this country. Lets err on the side of being cautious and give the existing Islamic community time to assimilate with Australian culture as Andrew Bolt proposed.
